Easy Ways To Soothe Sunburn

Sunburn of skin is a natural process to protect the skin from the harmful ultra-violet (UV) rays of sunlight.  Upon exposure to sunlight, the skin produces a brown colored pigment, that provides dark color or tanned look to the skin. Once you have Suntan, it is not easy to bring your skin back to in the normal state. It is not easy to remove suntan completely through any cosmetic cream or lotion can effectively treat sun-tanned skin.

But here are some suggestions to reduce the Sunburn at home:

Yoghurt + lemon bleach:

Mix yoghurt with lemon juice and apply it on your skin daily before bath. This is one of the best remedies for reducing sun tan.

Potato: Rub peeled potato skin on the affected area or raw potato juice for fast relief. As this a slow procedure it will take a time to soothe the sunburn.

Cucumber juice: Apply cucumber juice on your face for 10 minutes after tanning. Vitamin C in cucumber juice can moisturize your skin naturally and help you improve your skin tone.  You can also rub freshly cut slices of cucumber on your skin.

Sandalwood powder: Mix sandalwood powder with coconut oil and almond oil to make a paste. Apply this paste on your skin and leave it for half an hour before washing off with cold water.

Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera gel is a good treatment for sun tanned skin.  It is an easy solution for Sunburn. Just take a few leaves of Aloe Vera plant and mash them.  Mix lemon juice in it and apply the puree to the affected areas.  It also helps to cleanse clear and nourish the skin.

With these solutions, you need to take some precautions also while going out in sun

  • Always use a sunscreen of SPF 20 or more. And apply it every time whenever you step out of your place.
  • Wear Sunglasses to protect your eyes from sun rays.
  • Wear a hat or carry an umbrella with you always.
